Patio heaters are proof to me that we are all doomed. The things are so blindingly obviously awful for the environment, yet those same people who are happilly boasting that they now switch their 1 watt standby consumption TV at the wall at night along with unplugging their sub-1-watt phone charger when not in use are racing to the shops to buy one. Being a very rich, classy bloke, I'm on the ALDI e-mailing list, and this weeks bargains include a 12kW heater which "will bathe your patio with welcome warmth, so the after dinner conversation can continue well into the night". Well bugger me that's where I've been going wrong all these years, I always wondered why the conversation just died as soon as outside temperatures dropped below 20C. Made me so mad I googled for "patio heaters evil" and found you!!
